L-3 COMMUNICATIONS BOEING 757-200
LARGE SPY PLATFORM TESTBED
TRAILBLAZER PARKED AT THE L-3 MAJORS FIELD BACK GATE TEST FACILITY NEXT TO COUNTY ROAD 3303 ON THE SE CORNER OF THE AIRFIELD
L-3 has its own Boeing 757-200 that travels extensively around the globe. The company doesn't advertise it much, probably for some dark reason. It's classified as experimental, registered in Helena, Montana as many L-3 associated aircraft are (see the FAA registry here). According to MvN's Boeing 757 website (see here), it was built in 1997 and leased out to Finnair, then purchased by L-3 in 2013. It was caught on video landing at the Osaka-Kansai airport in Japan in Sept 2015 (see You Tube video here), and at Shannon airport in Ireland (FlightAware photo here).
As of Nov 2016 the aircraft was at the L-3 facility located at Majors Field performing test flights. On 16 Nov it departed Greenville and flew what appear to be signals intelligence collection profiles in the Gulf (see FlightAware tracks here).
